Medical devices - the irx3™ Wavefront Aberrometer

Print E-mail

Designed by professionals for professionals, the irx3™ Wavefront Aberrometer is an FDA registered and CE marked(1) diagnostic tool for clinical practitioners and researchers that want to put the power and precision of wavefront measurement to work for them.

Performance and value in one, turnkey solution:

  • 1024 true optical measurement points
  • wide dynamic range of ±10D astigmatism and -16/+20D sphere
  • 0.003D RMS repeatability(2)
  • Natural pupil analysis

Imagine Eyes’ patented technology measures your patient’s entire optical system in a single “one-shot” operation that provides superior precision and repeatability when compared to other techniques. A wealth of patient data is rapidly displayed in a variety of familiar terms including sphere, cylinder, axis of rotation and diopter-based power maps.

Scientific users appreciate the irx3’s advanced data formats including wavefront maps and easy to interpret Zernike coefficients, as well as the option to personalize the software’s display.  Used in conjunction with our complete collection of physical and optical algorithms, these high-precision measurements can help to rapidly analyze and publish results.

Versatile and intuitive:

  • User controlled fixation distance and wavefront sampling area
  • Clinically oriented software that provides exportable patient data in familiar formats including sphere, cylinder, axis of rotation (astigmatism) and power maps
  • Advanced data including wavefront maps, diopter-based and Zernike coefficients
  • Easy data export

The irx3 combines autorefraction and autokeratometry with high-precision Shack-Hartmann wavefront measurement, infrared pupillometry and wavefront assessment of accommodation into one stand-alone solution that helps practitioners meet today’s challenges. Even more, examinations can be performed with optical or surgical corrections in place, allowing you to evaluate and compare their in situ performance to the pre-corrected state.

In this part of our site, we have presented some of the irx3’s key diagnostic capabilities to demonstrate how the device enhances everyday clinical practice and how it excels in cases often encountered in clinical research and investigation situations.  Click on the linked text to view the irx3 specifications page or to download our Medical Devices product brochure.
