The REVEAL project awarded 970k€ in funding from France’s ANR

ReVeal is a two year project that will lead to significant advances for imaging retinal vessels in cases of systemic diseases such as arterial hypertension and diabetes. To accomplish this goal, Imagine Eyes will once again join forces with many of its partners from INOVEO and iPhot projects to implement advances to the rtx1 Adaptive Optics Retinal Camera that will further improve the device’s already impressive performance in vascular imaging.“As the retina provides a unique view on the body’s circulatory system, the rationale behind this ambitious project is easy to understand” says Pr. Michel Paques, ReVeal’s project leader from the Quinze-Vingts National Ophthalmic Hospital in Paris, France. “The retina’s relatively small vessels show telltale signs of systemic diseases far sooner than they can be detected with techniques such as blood pressure monitoring or ultrasound examinations of the carotid artery. We believe that the application of what we aim to accomplish will help ophthalmologists contribute even more to the general health of their patients.”Funded with 970,000€, ReVeal unites Imagine Eyes, the Clinical Investigation Center 503 of the Quinze-Vingts National Ophthalmic Hospital , L2TI, Onera, ISEP and Télécom Paristech.
