The authors, a team led by by Pr. Michel Paques at the Quinze-Vingts National Eyes Hospital, Paris, France, have demonstrated how the rtx1* has provided them with new and insightful information on how geographic atrophy affects the retina at the cellular scale. In several cases, follow-up examinations using adaptive optics imaging have led to detect disease progressions in very short periods of time.  To read the abstract and access the full text, click here .
