Polyvalence and precision rolled into one

The irx3 unites the functions of a host of ophthalmic diagnostic instruments into one package, potentially helping to make examinations faster and more reliable.  Using the same device to objectively measure refraction, keratometry, pupilometry and accommodative ability can help to control variations in data inherent to using multiple measurement devices. 

With 1024 true optical measurement points (no software interference from interpolated enhancement of the wavefront data) and exceptionally wide dynamic range of ±10D astigmatism and -16/+20D sphere, the irx3 is considered by many customers to be the most precise ocular wavefront diagnostic tool available.  Thanks to Imagine Eyes patented “one-shot” Shack-Hartmann technology, the irx3 offers exceptional repeatability of 0.003 D RMS (1) in the laboratory conditions that customers are accustomed to.

Users have complete control of essential measurement parameters including fixation distance, wavefront sampling area, aberration coefficients scaling as well as the number of steps and distance between them during accommodation assessment.  The irx3 also provides natural pupil analysis by eliminating circular truncation of the wavefront data.

Seamless workflow integration

The irx3’s proprietary software interface is designed to adapt to the varied needs and workplaces of our customers from academic researchers to clinical investigators.  Subject data files are easily created and accessed through a conveniently placed file list that enables users to quickly find and compare data from different patients or from multiple examinations on the same patient.

Users can chose the way examination data and measurement units are displayed to best meet their needs and practices, choosing between familiar diopter based power maps or more detailed precision wavefront maps displayed in microns.  Measurements can be evaluated in traditional expressions including sphere, cylinder and axis of rotation, or using advanced analysis functions including MTF, PSF and Zernike coefficients displayed as polynomial forms.

The irx3 is available as a turnkey solution, or in OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) for for third-party manufactures, integrators and others that want to harness its unique features to build their own ocular wavefront analysis devices.
