At Imagine Eyes, we develop, manufacture and market advanced ophthalmic medical devices that use Shack-Hartmann wavefront and adaptive optics technologies to respond to market needs that cannot effectively be addressed using other methods.

Based in Orsay France, we founded the company around a unique approach and a common goal. Our approach unites recognized experts in domains including adaptive optics, human vision, mathematics, electronics and computer engineering into a devoted team that works closely with our customers to achieve the common goal of putting the most precise wavefront diagnostic and correction instruments available into professionals’ hands.

Our first product, irx3™ Wavefront Aberrometer, released in 2003 to wide industry acclaim, provides practitioners and clinical researchers with the tools they need to improve the quality of care that they can provide to their patients. This award-winning diagnostic device breaks through many of the barriers that have impeded other products in the past. The irx3 combines high-precision, wide dynamic range Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensing and measurement technology with patented analysis software into an easy to use, stand-alone solution.

Since then, we have continued to develop our product line by bringing new, innovative technologies to market.  The crx1™ Adaptive Optics Visual Simulator, the only device of its kind commercially available, unites the advanced diagnostic abilities of the irx3 with the unique wavefront correction capacities of our patented mirao™ 52-d Electromagnetic Deformable Mirror into one breakthrough solution for industrial researchers and manufacturers alike.

To ensure our customers of the highest level of quality and support, we rigorously apply ISO 9001 and 13485(1) protocols during all phases of development, manufacturing and support.

Our satisfied customers include world-renowned practitioners, scientists and companies that use our products in a wide range of applications ranging from everyday ophthalmology practice to industrial research and development. In 2006, several independent research groups used our adaptive optics products, including mirao, to obtain ultra high-resolution images of the human retina in vivo.

Thus far, 2008 has been an excellent year for Imagine Eyes.  Our customers unveiled their first results using the crx1 at various sites around the world and the irx3 continues to serve research customers working in a variety of eye health domains (see the news section for a list of scientific publications).  The company equally released two new breakthrough products for vision science and eye health researchers.  The mirao 52-e Electromagnetic Deformable Mirror, first displayed at the 2008 ARVO annual meeting, was offcially launched in August along with the AOKit - eye.  The enhancements to mirao played a key role in advancing the INOVEO retinal imaging project.  Even more, the original team has grown to include over 10 professionals from around the world.

Imagine Eyes will continue to respond to customer needs by bringing more adaptive optics based products, originally developed by astrophysicists to improve the quality of telescopes, into the eye care profession. Currently, we are working with our customers to bring vision simulation and ultra high-resolution retinal imaging into everyday clinical practice.
